Course Map Posted

The course map for Halloween Cross is now up on the schedule page. The course is a ~1.7 mi. clockwise loop and, though largely hardpack dirt and pavement, includes ~1000' of fast sandy singletrack not used since the early '90s at the lower south end of the course. Some of the old guard may remember it well. Ben spent most of his day on Tuesday grooming the track with a shovel and hacking weeds. It'll be fast and somewhat treacherous.

Parking will be a challenge given the number of other activities on campus (football, tennis, etc), so carpool if possible. Park in the blue zones only. The red zone may look tempting, but represents a new playing field being built by the school and has been recently hydroseeded.

Start/Finish and registration have been moved from the traditional lower paved lot to the upper campus adjacent to the swimming pool, so be prepared for a trek from the parking areas.

The course at AHS is unique in that the school principal, Casey O'Brien has been riding the series since the mid-'90s and will be racing this Sunday. He's a huge proponent of our event and without him we wouldn't have had a course for this weekend. Give him high five, fist bump, or otherwise express your gratitude if you happen to see him rolling around!
